Baby Shark Boy is set to officially debut on 20 August 2026 with a new single titled "Wave," which features Juheon, a member of the well-known K-pop group MONSTA X.
On 10 August, a teaser for the "Wave" music video was released to excite fans, beginning with a line from the original Baby Shark song before showing Park dancing and singing as Baby Shark Boy.
The Baby Shark Dance song became a global phenomenon, with its music video accumulating over 17 billion views on YouTube, making it the platform's most-viewed video.
The song's success transformed Baby Shark from just a children's song into a pop culture icon recognized worldwide, inspiring memes and ongoing imitations for years.
Park’s return is closely watched because he is not just coming back as the Baby Shark child but starting a new path as a full-fledged K-pop artist.
The Baby Shark Boy project is supported by Pinkfong, which is directly involved and promoting the launch through official channels.
A Pinkfong representative told South Korea's The Korea Herald that the project aims to let Park tell his own story, as his name has been linked to Baby Shark since childhood.
Additionally, Pinkfong plans to release a behind-the-scenes documentary of the Baby Shark Boy project to take fans along on the journey from viral music video child to K-pop artist.
