A fire broke out on an oil product tanker off the coast of Incheon, South Korea, resulting in two crew members' deaths while 16 others were safely rescued.
Yonhap News Agency reported on 27 August that a fire occurred on a 7,333-ton oil product tanker, which had 18 crew members aboard, including seven foreigners.
The South Korean Coast Guard intervened and found two crew members dead in the engine room, while the other 16 were safely evacuated by the Coast Guard.
The vessel was located in waters off the coast of Incheon, and authorities managed to control and extinguish the fire at around 04:00 on Friday, 28 August.
Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire, as well as details concerning the deceased and the incident aboard the ship.
