A mysterious male body was found hidden in the airplane wheel compartment at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, after arriving from Tokyo, Japan. Authorities are urgently sending the body for autopsy to find the cause of death and identify the deceased.
The incident occurred on 28 August after a flight from Tokyo arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Terminal 2 (KLIA2), at around 06:30. Engineering staff inspected the landing gear compartment and discovered a male body lying face down inside the right wheel compartment at approximately 06:55.
Before the inspection, officials noticed an unusual smell coming from the wheel compartment area. Upon opening it, they found the deceased and immediately alerted airport police, who then called forensic officers to examine the scene.
Police stated the deceased is a male, approximately 17–25 years old based on physical characteristics. The body showed early signs of decomposition and is estimated to have been dead for over 72 hours. No documents or evidence to identify him were found.
The deceased was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a dragon image on the back and the word "OAKLEY" on the front, light blue jeans, a brown leather belt, socks, and black sports shoes. The clothing remained intact.
Preliminary police reports indicated no wounds on the body, and it remains unclear how the man accessed the wheel compartment or whether he was a stowaway passenger.
After initial examination, authorities sent the body to Serdang Hospital for a thorough autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police have classified the case as a sudden death and are investigating to identify the deceased and uncover the circumstances behind this mysterious man.
The airplane wheel compartment is located at the landing gear base and is not intended for passengers. It is exposed to extreme conditions during flight, including low temperatures and high altitude air pressure. Officials are investigating how and at what point the man entered this area during the journey.
