British Woman Stabbed to Death at Train Station in Germany

A British woman was stabbed to death at the train station in Rosenheim, located in southern Germany. The suspect was immediately arrested, and police are investigating the motive for this incident.

International news agencies reported that a 31-year-old British woman died after being stabbed at Rosenheim train station in Bavaria, southern Germany, in the early hours of Sunday, 30 Aug 2026. She was taken to hospital but later died.

According to a police statement, officers arrested a 27-year-old German man at the scene immediately after the incident. The investigation into the cause and motive is ongoing.

Police have requested cooperation from anyone who may have witnessed "an argument or physical assault" at the train station late Saturday night or early Sunday morning to come forward and provide information.

Germany's DPA news agency reported that the suspect, from the Fürstenfeldbruck district, will be taken to court on Sunday. It remains unclear whether the two knew each other beforehand or what the British woman was doing in Bavaria.

Rosenheim is one of the largest cities in Upper Bavaria and serves as a busy railway hub for travelers heading to various Austrian cities including Vienna, Salzburg, and Innsbruck.

The area is currently hosting the Rosenheimer Herbstfest, a beer festival similar to Oktoberfest, which is the world’s largest beer festival held in Munich.
