“London, please help me sing this song,” she said, kneeling to be closer to the audience throughout her performance.
In August, Ariana Grande announced she would take a break from work and stop all public appearances after the Eternal Sunshine tour amid months of speculation and criticism regarding her health and changing appearance.
This hiatus also includes withdrawing from the stage production Sunday in the Park with George by Stephen Sondheim at the Barbican Centre in London during next summer.
She was originally scheduled to perform alongside Jonathan Bailey, who had previously co-starred with her in the movie Wicked. On Tuesday, he also withdrew from the play.
On stage in London, Grande showed no signs of weakness or poor health, except for a foot injury that forced her to switch from her signature high heels to knee-high platform boots.
Nevertheless, she continued to dance and move in sync with the dancers, often standing on tiptoe to compensate for the lost height from her usual heels.

Grande announced her hiatus shortly after releasing the music video for her latest single Petal, which prompted some fans to express concern over her weight. Two days later, her personal publicist announced she would “step back from public appearances” due to “unceasing public scrutiny and criticism.”
Grande herself reassured fans the next night, saying her decision was the result of “careful reflection and a choice of my own,” and that it had been “planned for a long time.”
“I've heard fans worry that negative attention might ruin my good moments, but... it’s actually the opposite,” she said on stage in Chicago. “But boundaries have to be set—people need to rest sometimes.”
The 10-show concert series at London’s O2 Arena was the last chance for fans to see her live, drawing audiences from all over the world, including China, Australia, and various European cities, with a total of 200,000 attendees just in London.
In the final show, Grande did not wear her signature high heels due to her foot injury, but she posted on Instagram assuring fans the injury was not serious. She confirmed she was “recovering” and would complete the final concert “even if I’m 2-3 inches shorter than usual.”
She kept her promise with a broad smile, hitting high notes in Dangerous Woman and sprinting across the stage during Break Free, one of the lively highlights.
Grande ended the show as usual, suspended by a sling and lifted toward the ceiling of the O2 Arena before disappearing from view, leaving fans wondering when—or if—they will see her perform again.
