A dramatic incident occurred as a reporter and cameraman from Lebanon's Al-Manar TV station were covering an Israeli attack live but were then struck by a subsequent close-range explosion, causing shrapnel injuries to both.
The incident took place in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh while a reporter and cameraman from Al-Manar TV, which is controlled by the Hezbollah group, were covering Israeli attacks.
Footage shared online showed the reporter broadcasting live near the Hussainiya Mosque in central Nabatiyeh around 8 p.m. on Sunday, just before a second wave of attacks occurred close to his position. The reporter was injured by shrapnel in his legs and arms, and the cameraman was also wounded. The station reported that both are in stable condition and undergoing surgery.
This event happened amid multiple Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported at least 10 deaths, including women and children. Eight were killed in an attack on a building in Kfar Roummane city, and one paramedic died from a vehicle attack.
The Israeli military said these attacks were retaliation after Hezbollah militants launched a bomb-laden drone targeting Israeli forces. They also said they targeted Hezbollah members accused of transporting weapons in Kfar Roummane. Hezbollah has not yet claimed responsibility for the initial attack.
