Trump announced at a Republican Party meeting in Texas that he would give every American $5,000 if the party wins both the House of Representatives and the Senate, while urging the government to be allowed to continue working to finish its mission.
President Donald Trump created a stir at the Republican National Convention held in Dallas, Texas, on 9 September, pledging that if the Republicans secure majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in this fall's midterm elections, every American will receive $5,000, roughly 160,000 baht, calling this the 'Trump Dividend.'
Trump compared this payment to a company distributing dividends to shareholders when the business succeeds, adding that the money Americans receive from this program must be spent within the United States.
However, there are currently no clear details on how the government would fund this large sum, who would be eligible to receive it, or whether this idea could legally be implemented.
In addition to proposing the $5,000 payout, Trump used the party meeting platform to urge Americans to vote Republican in the midterms, warning that if the future of the U.S. is handed over to the Democrats, the country may take many years to recover.
Trump told supporters to help vote for the Republicans and declared that if the party wins, the U.S. will move forward and leave other countries behind for generations to come.
This campaign also reflects Trump’s effort to maintain support from the Republican base ahead of the midterm elections, which will be a crucial test of his administration.
On stage, Trump conveyed a message asking supporters to help clear the way for the party to continue its work, using the slogan 'Let us finish the job,' one of the key messages to rally votes this time.
