Israel Airstrike Kills Family of Four in Gaza, Citing Armed Group Membership

Israel launched an airstrike on a house in northern Gaza Strip, killing four family members. The Israeli military claimed they had killed operative members of an armed group.

Foreign news agencies reported that on Thursday, 10 Sep 2026, the Israeli military conducted an airstrike on Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip. Bombs fell on a residence, killing a father, mother, and their two daughters, aged 8 and 12, who were asleep at the time.

Israel has intensified heavy bombing over the past two days. In the latest attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed the target was a "military structure" and that the strike killed Muamen Ahmed, an operative fighter responsible for attacks on Israeli forces. The IDF did not mention the wife or children who were also killed.

Health officials and relatives of Ahmed in Gaza confirmed his death but did not confirm whether he was a member of an armed group as alleged by Israel.

In the past two days, Israel has struck at least six homes and weapons depots, damaging nearby houses and shelters, forcing many families to abandon their homes and seek safety once again.

Despite a joint ceasefire agreement since October 2025, Israel continues to launch attacks on the Gaza Strip. Both Israel and Hamas accuse each other of violating the agreement, while efforts toward a lasting peace under President Donald Trump's plan have made no progress.

Gaza health officials report that since the ceasefire took effect, over 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have died from Israeli attacks, while Israel has lost four people. However, since the Gaza conflict reignited in October 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have died.
