Russia Attacks Ukrainian Shopping Mall, Killing 4 and Injuring Over 60

Russia launched its third attack on a Ukrainian shopping mall within a week, resulting in 4 deaths and over 60 injuries. At the same time, Ukraine also sent drones to strike several Russian cities.

On Thursday, 10 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Russian drones attacked a shopping mall in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, central Ukraine, killing at least 4 people and injuring 60 others, including children and rescue personnel.

Ivan Vyhivskyi, Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that many shops and several cars were targeted in broad daylight while the streets were crowded with people.

In the past week, Ukraine reported that Russia conducted airstrikes on malls in several cities, including Sumy on Tuesday, which caused 2 deaths and 20 injuries, and Zaporizhzhia on Monday, where the mall was almost completely destroyed. A month earlier, an attack on a mall in Kryvyi Rih killed 16 people and injured 130.

Russian officials revealed that Ukraine sent maritime drones to attack Sochi, a resort city, resulting in 28 injuries. Drone attacks also targeted border cities and areas under Russian control, causing casualties on the Russian side as well.

The escalation of attacks by both Ukraine and Russia comes amid stalled diplomatic efforts. Despite U.S. envoys meeting leaders of both countries over the weekend to seek an end to the war that has lasted over four and a half years, no concrete progress has yet been made.
