Fans Commemorate Dolly Parton with Cornfield Mazes Across the U.S. and Canada Featuring Her Iconic Blonde Image

Fans honor Dolly Parton through cornfield mazes at 20 locations in the U.S. and Canada, one of which is designed to depict the legendary singer's distinctive face and blonde hairstyle.

It has become a striking and impressive tribute in the cornfields: the Dolly Parton-themed maze invites visitors to walk through paths commemorating the famous American country singer who passed away on 25 August at age 80.

One of these mazes is located at Twins BBQ Co. farm in Brookfield, Connecticut. Covering 5 acres with over a mile of pathways, from ground level visitors see only tall corn stalks, but from above the face, name, and hairstyle of Dolly Parton appear clearly.

The farm owner said the most challenging part of the maze was creating Dolly's hairstyle, due to its detailed and numerous hair strands, forcing visitors to make decisions at hundreds of junctions, making it easy to get lost.

This maze is part of the 'Get Lost with Dolly' campaign, featuring 20 Dolly Parton-themed corn mazes across farms in 15 U.S. states and 2 Canadian provinces.

The project celebrates the 31st anniversary of the Imagination Library, a book-giving program for children founded by Dolly Parton in 1995, inspired by her father who was illiterate.

Today, the Imagination Library reports having distributed over 300 million books and currently sends free books to more than 3 million children monthly across five countries.

Participating farms donate part of the admission fees from the maze to support the Imagination Library programs in their communities.

For the Connecticut maze, corn planting began in late June, followed by layout design in July. The team used graph paper sketches and manually marked paths while the corn plants were about 8 inches tall.

The maze opened to visitors on 5 September and is scheduled to remain open until 7 November.

Originally, the 'Get Lost with Dolly' campaign was planned before Dolly Parton's passing, but following her death, it has become a way for fans across North America to honor the artist whose work has spanned generations.
