U.S. police are investigating the death of Presley Gerber, son of global supermodel Cindy Crawford, with initial belief it was due to a drug overdose.
Santa Monica police revealed on Monday, 21 Sep 2026 GMT+7, that they are expediting the investigation into Presley Gerber's death, suspecting a possible drug overdose.
Presley Gerber, a 27-year-old model, died at a treatment facility on Sunday, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records. However, police stated they have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death and added there is no indication of homicide or assault.
Allie Jenkins, representative for Crawford and her husband Randy Gerber, told CBS News that "the family requests privacy during this extremely difficult and painful time."
Presley Gerber worked as a model like his mother and sister Kaia. He debuted on the runway for the Italian luxury brand Moschino at age 16, and later modeled for top brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta.
His father, Randy Gerber, is a well-known businessman and co-founder of the Casamigos liquor brand alongside Hollywood legend George Clooney.
In recent years, Presley Gerber openly discussed his mental health struggles and substance addiction issues.
In 2023, Presley said on the Studio 22 podcast, "Having battled mental health issues, depression, and what followed, I believe that if I can help even one person or hundreds out of where I once was in life, that’s all I need to do."
In the September issue of American Vogue, his sister Kaia spoke about his addiction struggles, saying, "When something like that happens in a family, it makes everyone pull themselves together and reflect."
Previously, Presley spoke about his close family ties, especially with Kaia, with whom he modeled a Calvin Klein campaign in 2018 and even tattooed her name on his arm.
He told People magazine that year, "We’re a very close family, especially me and my sister, so it’s really great... We travel together about half the time, so it doesn’t feel so lonely."
