Taylor Swift announced the release of four new songs—Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon—in the special album The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, which will begin streaming on 25 Sep 2023 GMT+7.
Taylor Swift, the Grammy-winning superstar singer, announced via Instagram the upcoming release of The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, a special expanded version of the album The Life Of A Showgirl featuring four new songs. It will be available to stream on various platforms on Friday, 25 Sep 2023 GMT+7.
The four new songs added are Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon. Swift announced this news along with revealing the cover image of the new album version.
Swift stated that about a year ago, fans set a record that greatly surprised her, as The Life Of A Showgirl achieved the highest first-week sales and streaming numbers in the album's history.
Following that, Swift traveled to Sweden to celebrate the success with Max Martin and Shellback, the two key producers and collaborators of the album. They intended to spend time reflecting and enjoying their achievement, but with a studio in front of them, the three returned to what they do best—writing more songs.
Swift said the four new songs came from her gratitude to fans who supported and celebrated the album, and she hopes fans will enjoy these new tracks.
Before officially announcing The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore project, Swift had just confirmed the upcoming release of the song Patient Zero, prompting fans to revisit clues the singer might have left earlier.
One of the clues fans connected to the new song appeared in the Opalite music video released in February, which featured a poster with the phrase "PATIENT FOR THE ENCORE" and four cards each displaying the number zero, later interpreted as hints toward the song title Patient Zero and the Encore project.
Additionally, Swift's appearance on the series Law & Order: SVU, part of the Emmy Awards 2026 events, included a clue that made fans search for its meaning. She spoke four groups of words: "Saccharide. Aries. From the vineyard. North or south," after which fans noticed some letters could be rearranged to form the word ENCORE.
Before officially announcing Patient Zero, Swift also changed her Instagram bio to "And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u." using zeros in place of the letter "o," which further led fans to connect it with the song title Patient Zero and previous clues.
The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, featuring these four new songs, will be available for listening on streaming platforms on Friday, 25 Sep 2023 GMT+7. Fans can already pre-order and pre-save the album.
