Saudi Arabia has warned of heavy thunderstorms across several regions, with risks of flash floods, hail, and strong winds blowing dust storms. Some areas have been issued red-level alerts.
On 2 Oct 2026 GMT+7, the Saudi National Meteorological Center issued warnings to residents in multiple areas to be cautious of heavy thunderstorms that could cause flash floods, along with hail and strong winds that may stir up dust and sand. The regions expected to be affected include Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah, with red-level alerts declared in some locations.
Additionally, fog may develop in various areas, including the coastal regions of the eastern province. The regions of Al-Jawf, Hail, Northern Borders, as well as northern parts of Al-Qassim and the eastern province, are forecasted to experience light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.
Regarding temperatures, Dammam and Buraydah are expected to be the hottest at 41 degrees Celsius, followed by Riyadh and Madinah at 40 degrees Celsius, Makkah at 39 degrees Celsius, and Jeddah at 35 degrees Celsius.
