A 15-year-old teenage girl used a knife to attack people outside a high school in Istanbul, Turkey, resulting in one girl dead and seven injured.
Turkish Minister of Health Kemal Memisoglu revealed that all eight injured were taken for treatment, with one in critical condition who later died.
The official Anadolu news agency reported that the attacker was a 15-year-old girl who was not a student at the school and was detained by the school's security officers.
This incident occurred as Turkey has increased security measures at schools following several violent episodes in educational institutions.
Last month, 11 students were injured in a shooting at a school in Manisa province in western Turkey, while in April, Turkey experienced two school shootings within just two days, shocking the entire nation.
