Trump Criticizes Norway for Not Awarding Nobel Peace Prize, Calls It an Indelible Stain

Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction at not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize after Navi Pillay, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, was awarded the prize in 2026.

On 10 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Reuters reported from Syracuse, New York, USA, that President Donald Trump voiced strong displeasure over missing the Nobel Peace Prize in Peace, calling the decision shameful and embarrassing. He added that the Nobel Committee's choice has left an indelible stain on Norway, the home of the Nobel Committee.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to 85-year-old Navi Pillay, a South African lawyer, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and former judge at the International Criminal Court. The Nobel Committee praised her work in promoting peace and international law, as well as pushing for accountability among war criminals and human rights violators.
