Spanish police raided a cocaine storage and packaging site at a rural house near Madrid, arresting eight suspects. They found a car modified with a hidden compartment concealing 28,000 euros in cash. The drugs were prepared for distribution across Spain and Europe.
Spanish police launched an operation arresting eight members of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking, seizing nearly three tons of cocaine in a rural area of Guadalajara province, about 70 kilometers northeast of Madrid.
The operation took place on Sunday, 11 October, after authorities monitored movements at a rural residence used as a drug storage site, where cocaine was found undergoing multiple packaging stages in preparation for distribution to destinations.
Examinations confirmed the white substance as cocaine weighing a total of 2,775 kilograms. Additionally, officers seized four Kalashnikov rifles, eight ammunition magazines, and several vehicles.
One vehicle had been modified with a hidden compartment beneath the floor, concealing 28,000 euros (approximately 31,400 US dollars). Adjacent to the residence, a warehouse served as the packaging and distribution site, where vehicles were also altered with secret compartments to hide drugs during transport.
Authorities stated that the modified vehicles were used to transport drugs to various locations within Spain and other European countries.
All eight suspects were taken into custody; seven have been sent to prison while legal proceedings continue.
