Tiger Shroff, Bollywood Star, Survives Assassination Attempt in Mumbai

Tiger Shroff, a famous Bollywood action star, was ambushed by gunmen while in a car in Mumbai but fortunately survived without any gunshot wounds.

Foreign news agencies reported that on Sunday evening, Tiger Shroff, a 36-year-old Bollywood action actor and martial arts expert, was fired at by at least two men at close range while sitting in the front seat of his car as he was leaving a football stadium in Mumbai's Juhu district.

However, Tiger Shroff survived without a single bullet hitting him. Photos of him posing with Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who visited him at home, showed Shroff had some minor injuries on his upper body, though it remains unclear what caused them.

The incident also injured two others, including Shroff's driver.

After the incident, police arrested three suspects believed to be involved in the attack in Rajasthan state and are preparing to transfer them to Mumbai police for prosecution.

Police have not confirmed who was behind the shooting, but Indian media reported an audio clip from a person linked to the "Lawrence Bishnoi gang" claiming responsibility. This notorious mafia gang in India has been linked to cases including an attack on Salman Khan’s residence and the 2024 assassination of a prominent politician.

Both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra visited Shroff at his home, condemned the assassination attempt, and pledged to eliminate gangs and fully protect public safety.

Meanwhile, the Indian Cinema Workers Association (AICWA) condemned the government and police for failing to prevent the attack, stating that mafia groups are trying to create an "atmosphere of fear" to extort money from entertainment industry workers, similar to tactics used in the 1990s.
