On 22 Oct 2026 GMT+7, CNN released a poll conducted by SSRS showing the Democratic Party leading the Republican Party by 10 points among registered voters nationwide before the U.S. midterm elections, while President Donald Trump's approval rating fell to a record low of 32% in this survey.
The survey found that 49% of voters support the Democrats compared to 39% for the Republicans, with over three-quarters viewing this election as a chance to change U.S. politics. Around 60% of voters said this vote is a direct signal to Trump.
The survey revealed that economic and cost-of-living issues are major pressures, with only 27% satisfied with Trump's economic management and 23% satisfied with his handling of inflation, while about two-thirds of Americans believe his policies have worsened the economy.
