Noah Wyle, the 55-year-old actor from the hit medical series The Pitt, surprised fans by winning People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2026 title. He revealed that when he first heard the news, he could hardly believe it and thought it was a prank.
Noah Wyle has become one of the hottest men of the year. The 55-year-old American actor, a two-time Emmy winner for the medical drama The Pitt, was recently named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2026 on Tuesday, 27 October 2025 GMT+7.
Wyle opened up after hearing the news, saying at first he thought it was a joke or that someone was playing a prank on him. He admitted he never expected to receive such an honor. "I hope everything changes from now on. I hope life is filled with wine and roses, milk and honey from here on," the actor joked with People magazine before laughing and adding, "My friends and family will definitely tease me a lot."
From doctor on screen to Sexiest Man Alive
Noah Wyle’s name has returned to the spotlight thanks to his role as Dr. Michael "Robbie" Robinovich in HBO’s medical drama The Pitt, which portrays intense work life in a Pittsburgh hospital’s emergency trauma center.
This performance earned him two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, reinforcing his decades-long successful acting career.
Previously, Wyle gained widespread recognition for his role as Dr. John Carter in the legendary medical series ER, which first aired in 1994 and became a defining work that established his international reputation in television.
Following in the footsteps of George Clooney, fellow ER alumnus
Receiving this title places Wyle in the footsteps of George Clooney, a senior actor who worked with him on ER and won People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive twice.
Other male actors who have received this title include Michael B. Jordan, Idris Elba, John Krasinski, and Paul Rudd.
The Sexiest Man Alive title is awarded by People magazine to a celebrity recognized for their charm and image. Each year’s honoree typically sparks discussion among fans and entertainment media worldwide.
