Israel launched another airstrike on the Gaza Strip, killing 8 people including one child, claiming the attacks targeted armed groups.
On Sunday, 1 Nov 2026, hospital officials in the Gaza Strip reported that Israel conducted new airstrikes in Gaza City and Khan Yunis, resulting in at least 8 deaths including one child, despite a ceasefire having been declared nearly a year ago.
Hospital staff in northern Gaza City said Israeli missiles struck a civilian area near Cairo School in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, killing 3 people, including a 4-year-old boy.
In Khan Yunis in the south, the Ministry of Interior under Hamas reported that drones attacked a group of police officers in Al-Mawasi while they were performing routine duties, killing 5 officers aged between 23 and 53, calling the attack a “horrifying massacre.”
The Israel Defense Forces said they conducted two strikes targeting alleged armed militants but did not provide evidence or additional information.
Ali Oweis, an eyewitness in Gaza City, told AFP, “My son and nephew were killed. They were sitting in a tent, causing no trouble, and nothing was happening in that area, but suddenly missiles struck them, killing them.”
“There is no ceasefire. The war is still ongoing. Don’t you see?” Oweis said.
Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement in October 2025, but Israeli airstrikes have continued almost daily.
Since then, 1,580 people have died, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health, a figure the United Nations considers credible, while Israel insists its strikes target Hamas members.
