Private Jet Crashes in Florida Residential Area, Explodes in Flames Killing All 9 Onboard

A mid-sized private jet crashed near a road in Florida, killing all 9 passengers and crew aboard. It is still unclear if anyone on the ground was injured in the incident.

Foreign news agencies reported that a Learjet 60 private plane carrying 9 people crashed near a road in Palm Beach County, southern Florida, on Sunday, 1 Nov 2026. The crash caused an explosion and fire, leaving a large crater on the road ablaze.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the aircraft had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was en route to the Bahamas. Officials have yet to disclose the cause of the crash or the identities of those on board.

Jim Reynolds, a spokesperson for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, said, "This is truly a tragedy." He confirmed the plane was private but could not provide further details about the passengers on the flight.

Video footage recorded by bystanders inside cars showed the terrifying moment the plane plunged from the sky, struck near a road, and exploded. Flames engulfed scattered concrete debris while onlookers were stunned, as the crash site was only a few feet from homes and passing vehicles.

It remains uncertain whether the crash caused damage to nearby homes in the area.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office closed both directions of traffic and advised drivers to avoid the intersection of Military Trail and 10th Avenue North, as firefighters and emergency services rushed to the scene.

A young woman working near the crash site reported that a power outage lasted about two hours in the surrounding area following the crash.
