Indian Community Shocked as 8-Year-Old Boy Lures 6-Year-Old Girl and Seriously Injures Her in Classroom

An 8-year-old boy lured a 6-year-old girl into a classroom and violently assaulted her, causing serious injuries. The incident shocked Indian society and raised questions about how the school could allow such an event to happen.

Foreign news agencies reported on 2 Nov 2026 that an 8-year-old boy in third grade violently assaulted a 6-year-old kindergarten girl inside a government school classroom in Panchkula city, Haryana state, northern India, leaving the girl seriously injured.

The incident occurred on 28 Oct and was captured by the school's CCTV camera. The footage was quickly shared online, deeply upsetting viewers and fueling public dissatisfaction with the school's negligence.

The girl was seriously injured and taken to a specialized hospital in Chandigarh city, where a medical team closely monitored her condition. She has since passed the critical stage and can now smile, but remains fearful and traumatized by the incident.

Police revealed that the boy lured the girl by falsely telling her, “Your father is waiting upstairs in the classroom,” before assaulting her. However, the motive behind the attack has not yet been disclosed.

This incident has deeply shaken Indian society and sparked intense anger because the perpetrator is only eight years old but exhibited unusually violent behavior. Moreover, the act was premeditated, involving deceit to lure the girl to a secluded place before attacking her.

The community is also outraged by the school's negligence, questioning how the girl could be assaulted inside the classroom without any teachers or staff noticing.

When the girl’s father came to the school to look for his daughter, the teachers and principal had no clue about her whereabouts. The father had to search the school himself before finding his daughter severely injured.

“After school ended, we couldn’t find my daughter, so I went inside to look for her. Nobody there knew where she was,” the father said. “When I saw her condition, I nearly screamed. From how she looked, I thought they had killed my daughter. If a child isn’t safe even at school, where else can she be safe?”

Following the incident, the school principal and two teachers were suspended for neglecting their duties and allowing the incident to occur. Additionally, the Haryana local government has established a committee to specifically investigate the facts of the case.

Under Indian law, an 8-year-old cannot be imprisoned or criminally punished as an adult, leading to public debate about justice and the safety of other children.

The boy has been sent to a juvenile detention center and is under the care of the Juvenile Justice Board for psychological evaluation by experts, focusing on behavior modification and counseling as per juvenile law procedures.
