Trump Announces Ending Israel Aid This Year, Citing Israel No Longer Needs It

Donald Trump announced he will stop providing $4 billion in aid to Israel at the end of this year, citing that Israel no longer needs it.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Fox News on the morning of Tuesday, 3 Nov 2026 GMT+7, that the U.S. will cut the $4 billion aid budget to Israel by the end of this year, simply stating, “They no longer need it.”

Trump said the Israel aid has become a major issue Democrats use to attack Republicans during campaigns. He questioned why Republicans should accept such political pressure when Israel no longer depends on this money.

“We used to give them $4 billion, but it will be cut at the end of this year because they no longer need it,” Trump said. “Why should we accept pressure from crazy people like (Abdul) El-Sayed when they (Israel) don’t need it?”

“It’s a bad political issue because when you say, ‘Why don’t we give $4 billion to everyone?’ Israel is our top priority. We give them more than anyone else, and they don’t need it anymore.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clearly stated that U.S. aid must have an endpoint but has never specified a definite timeline for when that will happen.

“If you think we will continue to receive tens of billions in military aid from America that I’ve negotiated twice, then be prepared that we won’t get it anymore,” Netanyahu told Israeli media last week.

The U.S. provides Israel with over $3.8 billion annually in military aid under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) made in 2018, which expires in 2028. Trump’s comments suggest he intends to cancel this MOU by the end of this year.

When asked to clarify whether this cut means $4 billion in military aid or $4 billion in cash, Trump replied, “You can define it however you want, whether as an exchange of goods or services, military aid, or cash. Both goods and money totaling $4 billion that we provide — they don’t need it anymore. And Bibi Netanyahu came to talk with me. We’ve discussed this for years because it’s a large amount.”

Meanwhile, in May, the U.S. and Israel began official negotiations to create a new agreement replacing the current MOU, but no clear timeline has been set.
