The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the people of Phuket, has opened the "Sukho Pavilion, Sala 4 Regions," a new and accessible artistic landmark that provides a tangible experience. It serves as a gateway to contemporary art for the global audience at the Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025 and is now open for viewing.
Today (28 Nov 2025 GMT+7), Mr. Prasop Riang-ngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, presided over the opening ceremony of the "Sukho Pavilion, Sala 4 Regions" at Sukho Spa & Resort, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket Province. He stated that this new artistic space results from cooperation among the Phuket Art Association, artists from all regions, and partner networks working together to make the "Sukho Pavilion" a platform that connects people with contemporary art in an accessible and tangible way. The pavilion features works by artists from the Central, Northern, Northeastern, and Southern regions, expressing local identities through contemporary art from cultural and spatial perspectives. Its goal is to use art as a medium for dialogue between people and cultures, which is vital for developing the creative industries and cultural economy of the country.
This pavilion is one of 13 parallel venues for the Thailand Biennale, Phuket 2025, held from 29 Nov 2025 GMT+7 to 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7 in Phuket Province. This international contemporary art event is a priority for Thailand and is continuously promoted under the concept "Nirankarn" (Eternity), reflecting the relationships among humans, time, nature, and the universe in an era of change.
The Permanent Secretary expressed confidence that Phuket will become a sustainable creative art city, a key destination for global tourists interested in art, and a major driver of Thailand’s creative industries. The Ministry of Culture is committed to promoting such creative spaces as vital social forces and advancing the sustainable growth of Thailand’s creative economy.
The event atmosphere was warm and friendly. After the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary took photos with invited artists and distinguished guests. He then toured the artworks from all four regions, where artists explained their concepts, creative processes, and works displayed under the theme "Nirankarn" (Eternity).
The "Sukho Pavilion, Sala 4 Regions" is now open for the public and interested visitors to freely explore contemporary artworks. It aims to provide a learning space, inspire visitors, and connect people to the world of contemporary art within the new context of Phuket Province from now onward.
