Mr. Surachet Laopulsuk, Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), revealed that on 5 December 2025, from 00:01 to 24:00, which is an official public holiday as declared by the Prime Minister's Office, EXAT will allow free use of three expressway routes: Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway (Phase 1) with 21 toll gates, Si Rat Expressway (Phase 2) with 32 toll gates, and Udon Ratthaya Expressway (Bang Pa-in to Pak Kret) with 10 toll gates.
This free expressway access aligns with government and Ministry of Transport policy as outlined in the amended concession agreement between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), and Bangkok North Expressway Company Limited (NECL). The measure aims to facilitate public travel on holidays, reduce travel expenses, and help alleviate traffic congestion near expressway toll booths.
Furthermore, on 6 December 2026, marking the 53rd anniversary of the Expressway Authority of Thailand’s establishment, EXAT is offering a New Year’s gift to all expressway users who pay tolls via EASY PASS: a 50% toll fee discount across all routes on that day.
