
The Ministry of Higher Education teamed up with the Ministry of Public Health and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province to organize the One Day Service project, offering fast and accurate lung disease screening using AI Chest X-Ray technology free of charge to the public, enhancing equitable and widespread access to healthcare services.
17 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Dr. Panpemsak Arunee, acting Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). He presided over the opening ceremony of the activity to expand the AI Chest X-Ray lung screening innovation for the health of Thai people.
Dr. Panpemsak Dr. Panpemsak stated that the activity, “Expanding the AI Chest X-Ray Lung Screening Innovation for Healthy Thai People,” is a multi-sector collaboration under the One Day Service (ODS) project. It aims to translate knowledge, research, and innovation from the laboratory into practical services in the community to help care for, prevent, and treat diseases concretely for the public.
Dr. Panpemsak He added that the key element is using AI-assisted Chest X-Ray technology to screen lung diseases quickly and accurately, which increases access to services, reduces the workload of medical personnel, and elevates the overall public health system. This is combined with comprehensive health services covering physical and mental health and screening for major diseases, reflecting a preventative health care approach.
Dr. Panpemsak He also said the Ministry of Higher Education is committed to improving citizens' quality of life through technology and innovation to ensure equitable access to health services and will continue supporting medical and health research for the greatest public benefit and sustainable national development.
During the event, free health services were provided to all attendees, including AI-assisted Chest X-Ray lung screening (Mobile AI Screening) with doctor consultations for assessment and advice, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings, hepatitis B and C virus screenings, diabetes and blood pressure checks, as well as distribution of condoms for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. Many local residents showed strong interest and participated in these health check services.
