Thai Embassy in Seoul Collaborates with Aeronautical Radio of Thailand to Assure South Korean Tourists of Flight Safety

The Thai Embassy in Seoul has partnered with the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand to build confidence among South Korean tourists traveling to Thailand, affirming that aviation in Thailand remains safe. They also joined forces in communications efforts to boost Thai tourism during the high season.

Mr. Thanee Sangrat, Thai Ambassador to Seoul, stated that the Thai Embassy prioritizes rapidly correcting misunderstandings after negative reports appeared in South Korean and international media, which could cause misinformation. He confirmed that Thailand remains highly safe, noting that the unrest reported along the Thailand–Cambodia border is far from tourist areas. He expressed gratitude to the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AEROTHAI) for clarifying air traffic management on the Thailand–South Korea flight routes, confirming no impact on aviation safety. This has greatly reassured South Korean tourists in deciding to visit Thailand.

Additionally, the Thai Embassy, together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), plans a positive marketing push after the 2026 New Year by inviting South Korean influencers and content creators to visit Thailand. They will produce positive content sharing travel experiences and stimulating interest among younger tourists via online media, promoting Thailand’s new image as a “Green Destination” focused on nature-based, cultural, and sustainable tourism—aligning with current preferences of South Korean travelers.

The discussions with AEROTHAI mark an important step in cooperation among foreign affairs, tourism, and aviation safety agencies, sending a positive signal to South Korean tourists that “Thailand remains safe, welcoming with smiles, and has new attractions waiting to be experienced.”

, Mr. Pichet Kunathamrak, Chairman of the Board of the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AEROTHAI), revealed after his visit to the Thai Embassy in Seoul that overall flights between Thailand and South Korea continue to grow steadily, especially during the New Year festival when flights increase from 54 to 60 per day. AEROTHAI has prepared strict air traffic management and routing measures to ensure maximum safety, relying on highly skilled personnel, advanced technology, and international safety standards.

He also reaffirmed that the unrest along the Thailand–Cambodia border does not affect aviation or tourism safety in Thailand. AEROTHAI is committed to supporting communication about aviation safety and fostering public understanding, which are key factors in building confidence for tourists and airlines, helping to sustainably grow Thai tourism.
