Social Security Office Encourages Insured Persons to Use Dental Benefits Before End of 2025, Emphasizing Transparency and Oversight of Healthcare Facilities

Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, invited insured persons under Sections 33 and 39 to use their annual dental benefits for 2025 before the end of the year to maintain oral health and reduce medical expenses. Dental benefits are rights entitled to insured persons every year.

Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew said insured persons can receive tooth extraction, fillings, scaling, and wisdom tooth surgery without upfront payment at healthcare facilities contracted with the Social Security Office, with coverage up to 900 baht per person per year, with unlimited visits. They can use their benefits at any location before 31 December 2025. For convenience, insured persons need only one ID card to access dental services without advance payment at participating facilities. They can inquire at their chosen facility or look for signs indicating “Dental services for insured persons without upfront payment.” If insured persons receive dental services at a facility not contracted with the Social Security Office for payment claims, they can apply for compensation online via E-Self Service at www.sso.go.th, attaching receipts, medical certificates, and a bank account copy, or submit documents at any Social Security Office nationwide.

Additionally, the Social Security Office's dental benefits cover removable dentures, both partial and full, within 5 years from the date of fitting. Partial removable dentures are reimbursed up to 1,500 baht based on actual expenses, and full removable dentures up to 4,400 baht, according to the Office's criteria.

At the same time, the Social Security Office has strictly enforced oversight measures on healthcare facilities serving insured persons. If a facility is found to have submitted false medical fee claims, the Office will take measures to ensure fairness, including recovering payments, imposing fines up to ten times the amount fraudulently claimed, seeking damages, suspending payment disbursements, pursuing criminal prosecution, notifying regulatory authorities, or revoking dental practice licenses.

“The Social Security Office reaffirms its commitment to protecting the rights of insured persons alongside ensuring proper and transparent supervision of healthcare facilities to provide insured persons with high-quality and beneficial dental services,” the Secretary-General of the Social Security Office concluded.
