Air Navigation Service Reduces Fees by 30% to Support Airlines Adding Flights During New Year, Boosting Economy and Tourism

The Air Navigation Service is preparing to facilitate convenience and safety for public travel during the 2026 New Year festival under the campaign “Happy Festival, Everywhere in Thailand, Convenient and Safe Travel on the Transport Network” by the Ministry of Transport. It is offering a 30% reduction in air navigation service fees to airlines for extra flights and discounted fare flights between 26 December 2025 and 4 January 2026.

Mr. Surachai Nuprom, Deputy Senior Executive Vice President and Acting Senior Executive Vice President of the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI), revealed that according to the Ministry of Transport's policy, preparations have been discussed to implement measures that facilitate convenience and safety for public travel during the 2026 New Year festival. Emphasis has been placed on all agencies collaborating to ensure the highest travel safety across all public transport modes—land, water, rail, and air. For AEROTHAI, this includes a 30% reduction in air navigation fees for airlines operating additional flights during the festival (Extra Flight) and flights offering discounted fares (Discount of ceiling fare flight) from 26 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Mr. Surachai added that AEROTHAI's actions support promoting travel and tourism to stimulate the national economy. For the New Year period (26 December 2025 to 5 January 2026), it is forecasted there will be a total of 30,420 flights, averaging 2,760 flights daily, a 3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. AEROTHAI has prepared and implemented various measures to accommodate the increased flight volume, ensuring safe and efficient air traffic management, reducing delays, and managing the workforce of air traffic controllers and engineers who will operate 24/7 to support extended airport service hours. It also facilitates the provision of aviation information and has prepared appropriate emergency response measures.
