30 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Mr. Attawit Rakjamroon, Managing Director of the Transport Company Limited (BKS). He stated that on 30 Dec 2025, during the New Year 2026 festival travel period, many people are continuously using the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2. It is expected that the highest passenger volume for outbound and return trips will be around 150,000–160,000 people, with over 8,000 bus trips (BKS and partner buses). As it is the last working day of 2025, BKS has arranged about 1,000 additional buses (supplementary buses 30) to accommodate festival travel.
Regarding travel on 29 Dec 2025, 76,088 passengers departed Bangkok outbound and 50,341 returned, totaling 126,429 passengers. They used 3,663 outbound bus trips and 3,428 return trips, totaling 7,091 trips (BKS and partner buses). BKS managed to operate sufficient trips without any passengers left behind.
However, BKS strongly advises during the 2026 New Year festival that the public should not trust malicious groups attempting scams. They recommend purchasing tickets only at official ticket counters to prevent financial loss and ensure travel safety. If any suspicious or unfair conduct is detected in public bus services, passengers should immediately report to officials or police on site or contact the Department of Land Transport at 1584 or the BKS Passenger Protection Division at 02–936–2834.
For passengers with advance BKS tickets on northern and northeastern (Isan) routes departing from 18:00 onward, please verify travel information and boarding points indicated on your ticket. On 30 Dec 2025, BKS buses will depart from Krungthep Aphiwat Central Terminal Gate 2, while supplementary buses will depart from Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal. Passengers are advised to allow at least one hour before departure to avoid traffic congestion.
