
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with Phayao Province, has transformed Kwan Phayao to celebrate the New Year with the “Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026,” delivering a spectacular celebration from 28 to 31 December 2025 GMT+7.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in partnership with Phayao Province, is organizing an event. The Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 is a year-end festival welcoming 2026, held from 28 to 31 December 2025 GMT+7 at the Father Khun Ngam Muang Monument plaza and around Kwan Phayao in Phayao Province. Under the concept “Light of Phayao, Honoring the Mother of the Land”, The opening ceremony was honored by Ms. Natriya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, as chairperson, with Ms. Thapanee Kiatphiboon, Governor of TAT, also attending. The event features highlights such as the Lighting & Installation Zone alongside the Flora Art & Exhibition Zone showcasing floral displays, creating a grand festive atmosphere. It is expected to attract over 120,000 visitors and generate tourism revenue of no less than 180 million baht. The event aims to impress and be memorable for both Thai and international tourists, while elevating Phayao Province as a new sustainable tourism destination.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphiboon, Governor of TAT, said the Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 will take place from 28 to 31 December 2025 GMT+7 at the Father Khun Ngam Muang Monument plaza and Kwan Phayao area in Phayao Province. The event embodies the concept “Light of Phayao, Honoring the Mother of the Land” to commemorate and pay respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in remembrance of her boundless kindness to the Thai people. This major event aims to boost Thai tourism at the end of 2025. Phayao is a promising tourism city due to its central location in northern Thailand, facilitating travel connections from major cities and nearby provinces with airports such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, and Nan. Coupled with its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, this is an excellent opportunity to elevate Phayao as a new tourism destination offering valuable experiences with a focus on sustainability.
The Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 offers dazzling highlights, starting with the Lighting & Installation Zone featuring light and art displays, alongside the Flora Art & Exhibition Zone showcasing and decorating stunning floral arrangements from 28 to 31 December 2025 GMT+7.
The festive atmosphere will be enriched by a spectacular drone show from 29 to 31 December 2025 GMT+7, culminating with a grand fireworks display on New Year's Eve, 31 December 2025 GMT+7. The event also features live music performances by renowned artists over three nights: on 29 December 2025, Benz Prikthai, The Toys, and F.HERO; on 30 December 2025, warm songs by Watcharawalee, Pure Purenessly, D Gerrard, and Kantong Big Band; and closing the celebration on 31 December 2025 with performances by Prang Prangtip, Takkatan Cholada, PiXXiE, and Lomosonic.
The event also includes the sale of local products and food, creating memorable moments for both Thai and international tourists. It honors Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in remembrance of her incomparable kindness to the Thai people nationwide. The event emphasizes environmentally conscious and sustainable tourism practices, aiming to enhance Phayao’s positive tourism image regionally in the long term.
Furthermore, TAT invites content creators to participate by producing video content at the Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 to compete for prizes totaling over 100,000 baht. Participants can design and share their memorable experiences in videos up to 1 minute 30 seconds on TikTok, set publicly with hashtags #PhayaoCountdownFloraFest2026 and #เค้าท์ดาวน์พะเยา2569. Entries are accepted from 29 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 GMT+7, with winners announced on 5 January 2026 GMT+7.
TAT expects the Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 to attract 120,000 visitors and generate at least 180 million baht in revenue over the four-day event. This will stimulate spending, extend visitor stays, and contribute tangible economic benefits to the local area.
