Truck Operators Can Now Apply for or Renew Transport Operation Licenses via the “Thang Rat” App

The Department of Land Transport has enhanced services to allow application and renewal of non-scheduled and personal truck transport operation licenses through the “Thang Rat” app, making the process convenient, easy, comprehensive, and completed in one place.

Sorapong Paithoonpong, Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, said, the Department of Land Transport is committed to continuously developing government systems in line with the digital government policy to increase efficiency, reduce procedures, and facilitate citizens and operators. Recently, the department has expanded service channels for applying and renewing non-scheduled and personal truck transport operation licenses, both domestically and internationally, through the “Thang Rat” application. The service channel via the “Thang Rat” app truly enhances convenience for operators, as the entire process can be completed using just one smartphone. This makes submitting applications and supporting documents easy, anytime and anywhere. Users can track application status in real-time and pay fees through the Comptroller General’s Department’s e-Payment system before receiving the license in electronic file format (e-License). Currently, the system offers services for applying and renewing non-scheduled and personal truck transport operation licenses as follows:

1. Non-scheduled truck transport operation license (70 domestic) available nationwide.

2. Personal truck transport operation license (80 domestic) within Bangkok Metropolitan Area.

3. Non-scheduled and personal truck transport operation licenses (70, 80 international) within Bangkok Metropolitan Area.

The Director-General of the Department of Land Transport further stated, regarding the procedure for applying and renewing transport operation licenses via the “Thang Rat” application, they are as follows:

1. Transport operators register (Open ID, ThaiD) through the digital identity verification system.

2. Select the service menu in the “Thang Rat” app and search for the “Electronic Transport Operation License System.”

3. Operators submit their applications via the app.

4. Staff verify the information and accept the application online.

5. Schedule and confirm inspection of the vehicle storage location.

6. Staff inspect the vehicle storage location.

7. Staff summarize the information and present it at an online meeting (in the case of applying for a 70 operation license).

8. Operators pay the license fees via the e-Payment system and receive a receipt immediately.

9. Operators receive the license in electronic file format (e-License).

Currently, the Department of Land Transport still accepts applications and renewals for non-scheduled and personal truck transport operation licenses through the Electronic Transport Operation License system (DLT E-Transport License) on the websitehttps://etl.dlt.go.thalongside the “Thang Rat” application, allowing operators to choose the most suitable service.

Moreover, by 2026, the Department of Land Transport plans to expand licensing services to cover all processes and provide nationwide service coverage.
