No Need to Panic: Nationwide Cell Broadcast Alert Test on 20 January

True Corporation has announced its readiness to join the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) in conducting a nationwide Cell Broadcast alert test through mobile phones, covering all 77 provinces on 20 January 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

The test aims to ensure confidence in the national alert system that meets international standards. During this test, an automatic alert will display the message: “Test alert. This is not an actual emergency. From the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). Please do not panic.” This message will appear and remain on the screen for 8 seconds, accompanied by an alert sound.

The test message will be brief and will not include any links to prevent scams. True and Dtac customers will receive the alert automatically even if their phones are on silent mode or the screen is locked, without needing to install additional applications. Users only need to ensure their devices run Android version 11 or iOS version 18 or higher.

This test marks a significant advancement in a disaster alert system that provides fast, accurate, real-time warnings, helping to enhance the safety and protection of Thai people’s lives and property in all disaster and emergency situations.
