True Corporation has announced its readiness to collaborate with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) to conduct a nationwide emergency alert test via the Cell Broadcast system on mobile phones, covering all 77 provinces on 20 January 2026 at 14:00.
To ensure confidence in the internationally standardized national alert system, this test will send automatic alerts displaying the message: “This is a test alert, not a real emergency, from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). Please do not panic.” The message will appear and remain on the screen for 8 seconds, accompanied by an alert sound.
The test message will be a brief alert with no links attached to prevent misuse by scammers. True and Dtac customers will receive the alert automatically even if their phones are on silent mode or locked, with no need to install additional applications. Devices must run Android version 11 or iOS version 18 or higher to receive the alert.
This test represents a significant advancement in a rapid, accurate real-time disaster alert system, which will enhance the safety and protection of Thai people's lives and property in all disaster and emergency situations.
