
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society showcased its achievements over three months, blocking over 220,000 illegal URLs, with online gambling sites being the most heavily targeted at more than 180,000 entries.

Over the more than three-month period (fiscal year 2026), the most blocked URLs were related to online gambling at 183,977 entries, followed by e-cigarettes at 14,618, alcohol advertisements at 10,139, cannabis trade at 2,943, prostitution at 2,040, firearms at 1,990, and others including distortion, fraud, defamation of the institution, hate speech, and pornography totaling 4,779 entries.
“The ministry continuously monitors and investigates online crimes. Using the “WebD” platform accelerates illegal website takedowns by employing AI and RPA technologies to detect, collect evidence, file paperless court petitions, and automatically send orders to internet service providers (ISPs). The “URLs Checker” system ensures ongoing monitoring, enabling the blocking of over 183,000 illegal social media, pages, websites, and URLs related to online gambling.” Wethangk Puangsap said.
