
The State Railway of Thailand has summarized its care and compensation efforts for those affected by the crane collapse incident, affirming that assistance is being carried out systematically and comprehensively.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) reported progress on the care and compensation for those impacted by the construction crane collapse onto a passenger train on 14 January 2026. It confirmed that support for affected individuals continues uninterrupted, conducted systematically, and tailored appropriately to each family’s situation.
Regarding the deceased: The SRT has completed coordination for identification of all 30 victims and sent senior representatives to attend the Buddhist funeral rites and royal cremation ceremonies for each. Initial compensation payments totaling 1,510,000 baht per person have been disbursed from main sources including:
The SRT continues to coordinate and seek additional aid from other agencies.
Regarding the injured: Of the 69 injured, 12 remain hospitalized. The SRT has deployed teams to visit patients and coordinate ongoing medical care support, including covering related expenses as appropriate.
Regarding property: The SRT has established a special channel for passengers or relatives affected regarding property damage to submit compensation claims. Staff provide guidance and assess compensation fairly on a case-by-case basis.
The State Railway of Thailand confirms it will continue monitoring and supporting those affected by the incident, while reviewing and strengthening safety measures in all aspects to restore public confidence and social trust going forward.
