This is to enable advance travel planning, manage bus services and trips smoothly, prepare sufficient buses to meet travel demand, and prevent passenger backlog.
Currently, about 30% of tickets for Songkran 2026 have been booked in advance across all routes nationwide, including the North, Northeast, East, and South. It is expected that ticket bookings will increase significantly in March 2026 as the holiday approaches and holiday schedules become clear for travel planning.
At present, approximately 80,000-90,000 passengers travel daily on regular bus services to various provinces, using about 5,000-6,000 bus trips (both Transport Company and partner buses) per day.
However, the Transport Company has instructed all agencies to supervise bus services, terminals, and staff according to safety measures, such as inspecting buses and equipment before service. Drivers must have adequate rest, pass drug tests, have zero alcohol levels, with two drivers assigned on long routes over six hours to alternate driving, and speed limited to 90 km/h as per legal regulations to ensure safety and public confidence in public transportation.
