Oil Fund Committee Freezes Diesel and Gasoline Prices Again Amid U.S.-Iran Conflict

Energy Minister Atthapol Rerkpiboon, serving as chairman of the Oil Fuel Fund Management Committee,OilFuel (OFMC)revealed that the meetingof the OFMC approved increasing the compensation rate from the oil fundforoildiesel by 0.44 baht per liter and reducing the oil fund levyforgasoline by between 0.30and 0.80baht per liter, which will result in retail pricesofdiesel and gasoline remaining unchanged at service stations.The committee also ordered the Oil Fuel Fund Office (OFFO) to closely monitor the situationto assess potential impacts on domestic retail fuel prices amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict.Currently, the Oil Fund's balance as of 22 Febstands positive at 2.385 billion baht, comprising an Oil Fund account surplus of 40.374 billion baht and a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) account deficit of 37.989 billion baht.The reduced levy on oil types will decrease daily revenue by 54.77 million baht,down from a previous daily revenue of 45.52 million baht,resulting in a daily expense of 9.25 million baht.Read more news on "State Policy"
