Lieutenant Rattakorn Kheowpaisan, Deputy Director of PAT in charge of Finance and Corporate Strategy, serving as Acting Director of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), stated that PAT plays a crucial role in ensuring the country’s waterborne cargo transport operates efficiently. He emphasized that all departments must maintain operational standards across safety, facilitation, and systematic port area management to adequately support cargo volumes and meet the needs of customers and operators.
Currently, ports supervised by PAT—including Bangkok Port, Laem Chabang Port, Ranong Port, Chiang Saen Commercial Port, and Chiang Khong Port—remain open 24 hours a day under international standards. The authority closely monitors operational conditions in all areas to maintain cargo transport efficiency and ensure uninterrupted supply chain continuity.of the country.
Lieutenant Rattakorn added that PAT continues to drive multiple infrastructure and integrated transport development projects to enhance the country’s competitive edge. These include the Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 development, the inland port development project, the connection between Bangkok Port and the Bang Na–At Narong expressway (S1), as well as the development of the Bangkok Port distribution center and multimodal transport and distribution center projects.
Additionally, PAT has plans to develop the western port into an automated facility and promote multiple continuous cargo transport routes, using Ranong Port as a central hub connecting trade to BIMSTEC countries. This aims to expand logistics options and strengthen Thailand’s regional position.
PAT is ready to be a key force in advancing Thailand’s future through an efficient, modern logistics system, alongside developing operational standards aligned with sustainable development directions. This approach balances economic, social, and environmental factors to ensure steady growth in international trade, thereby boosting the country’s competitiveness on the global trade stage.
