The Port Authority announced that the Middle East conflict does not affect import-export operations. It continues to provide normal 24-hour services, emphasizes no adjustments to fees or charges, and has prepared emergency response plans using a real-time vessel tracking system.
Lieutenant Rattakorn Khiewpaisan, Deputy Director of Finance and Corporate Strategy and Acting Director of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), stated that the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran in the Middle East has caused volatility in the global energy market and maritime shipping costs, potentially affecting international shipping route management. PAT has closely monitored developments and assessed any impacts on the country's maritime transport system.
PAT confirms that all ports under its supervision—including Bangkok Port, Laem Chabang Port, Chiang Saen Commercial Port, Chiang Khong Port, and Ranong Port—continue normal operations. They have clear port management systems and emergency plans to support continuous vessel arrivals, departures, and cargo handling.
In addition, PAT maintains close coordination with shipping lines, vessel agents, terminal operators, and related agencies. It uses real-time vessel tracking and scheduling systems to monitor international shipping route movements. If route or schedule changes occur, PAT can flexibly manage berths and resources within the ports to prevent disruptions to cargo transportation.
"Currently, PAT's services operate normally 24 hours a day, with no observed impact on core import-export missions. Service fees and charges remain at standard rates without adjustment due to the situation. PAT continuously monitors and evaluates risks comprehensively to ensure the country's maritime logistics system remains stable and uninterrupted," Lieutenant Rattakorn said.
The infrastructure, management systems, and collaboration with the private maritime sector in Thailand are well-prepared to handle international volatility, prioritizing safety, continuous service, and building confidence among operators and all service users.
PAT will continue to closely monitor the situation and is ready to communicate accurate and complete information to stakeholders, affirming that the country's maritime transport remains stable and that core services are unaffected overall.
