Today (4 March 2026 GMT+7) Mr. Sarawut Kaewtathip, Director-General of the Department of Energy Business (DEB) addressed the unrest in the Middle East, urging the public not to panic or hoard fuel. He explained that hoarding large amounts could be illegal and pose dangers due to improper storage.
The Director-General recommended that people only refuel their vehicles and avoid filling containers at service stations for safety reasons and to prevent hoarding. However, farmers or others who need containers for their work may do so under proper management by fuel vendors (service stations). The DEB is closely monitoring the situation and urges fuel suppliers to promptly procure and distribute sufficient fuel to meet ongoing public demand, affirming that domestic fuel reserves remain adequate.
Mr. Sarawut emphasized public confidence in the country’s energy management system and encouraged using fuel sparingly as needed, avoiding hoarding. This will help reduce import burdens and maintain overall energy price stability.
