Fare Increase Announced for Chao Phraya Express and Saen Saeb Canal Boats by 2 Baht Starting 7 Apr

Diesel fuel prices have surged to 44.24 baht per liter, impacting navigation costs. Recently, the Saen Saeb Canal Boat and Chao Phraya Express Boat services announced a 2 baht fare increase across all routes, effective from 7 Apr 2026. They emphasized that if fuel prices decline, fares will be promptly reduced accordingly.

Rising diesel prices hit hard; Saen Saeb Canal Boat announces 2 baht fare hike.

Mr. Chaowalit Methayaprapas, Managing Director of Family Transport (2002) Co., Ltd. The operator of the Saen Saeb Canal Boat route from Wat Sri Bunruang to Phanfa Lilat Bridge stated that diesel prices on 2 Apr 2026 reached 44.24 baht per liter, directly and unavoidably increasing navigation costs.

Therefore, the company must raise fares by 2 baht, from the previous 13-23 baht to 15-25 baht depending on distance, effective 7 Apr 2026. The next fare review will be conducted by 16 Apr 2026. If diesel prices fall, the Saen Saeb Canal Boat is ready to reduce fares immediately to ease the public’s burden.

Chao Phraya Express Boat raises fares on all routes starting 7 Apr.

Meanwhile, Chao Phraya Express Boat Co., Ltd., serving the river route from Pak Kret Pier to Wat Ratchasingkhon Pier, reported the same situation. Rising diesel prices, now at 44.24 baht per liter, have heavily impacted operating costs.

As a result, the company must increase all boat fares by 2 baht from the previous rates, effective 7 Apr 2026. This follows a recent fare increase implemented on 30 Mar 2026.

Second fare increase to cope with oil crisis.

This fare increase announcement by both the Saen Saeb Canal Boat and Chao Phraya Express Boat marks the second hike within less than two weeks, following the initial increase on 30 Mar 2026. The main reason is the sharp rise in fuel prices, especially B7 diesel, which previously surged to 38.94 baht per liter—a 6 baht increase at once—and continues to climb to the current 44.24 baht per liter.
