The Government Lottery Office Marks Its 87th Year, Promoting Responsible Giving and Sustainable Growth Alongside Thai Society

The Government Lottery Office (GLO) is entering its 87th year, reporting that in 2025 it contributed more than 54 billion baht to the government. It continues to innovate with the L6 and N3 lottery formats, aiming to become a sustainable organization. The office promotes the concept of "Mindful Lottery Buying," enhancing social and environmental responsibility in line with international standards.

On 3 April 2026, the Government Lottery Office (GLO) held an event to celebrate its 87th anniversary on 5 April 2026. Lieutenant Colonel Noon Sansanakhom, Director of GLO, along with senior executives, welcomed executives from government and private sectors who attended to extend their congratulations at the GLO headquarters in Sanambin Nam, Nonthaburi Province.

Lieutenant Colonel Noon Sansanakhom, Director of the Government Lottery Office. Lieutenant Colonel Noon Sansanakhom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, said on the anniversary that the past year was a source of great pride for the executives and staff who worked diligently. As a state enterprise, GLO plays a key role in contributing to the nation's economic and social stability. It met revenue targets and fostered sustainability in Thai society across all dimensions, gaining public recognition. Under the vision “Lottery Organization Focusing on Innovation to Promote the Economy and Society, Recognized by the People,” GLO received the Outstanding State Enterprise Award (SOE Award) in 2025 for “Development towards a Sustainable State Enterprise” for the first time since its establishment.

This year, the office remains committed to maintaining operational standards to build public trust while continuously developing its four main missions: printing, distribution, prize drawing, and prize payment. In printing, it aims to develop systems and technologies to become the country's leading center for anti-counterfeit printing standards. In distribution, it has developed lottery products to meet public demand, including the six-digit (L6) government lottery in both paper and digital formats and the three-digit (N3) lottery. It supports over 75,000 distributors and is exploring new lottery game formats to meet future buyer preferences. In prize drawing, GLO strives to operate according to ISO 9001:2015 international standards to ensure fairness, transparency, and auditability at every step, while expanding public access through traveling draws and live broadcasts via partners such as Thairath TV, Amarin TV, and Line Today. For prize payments, GLO has added convenient channels including Krungthai Bank, Government Savings Bank, and the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, along with drive-thru services at GLO offices and prize redemption via the G-wallet feature in the Paotang app.

Moreover, GLO continues its focus on being a socially and environmentally responsible organization by creating ongoing opportunities through diverse projects. These include the “GLO CUP” youth football tournaments for ages 13 and 15, which provide real opportunities in sports for Thai youth; the Lottery Welfare Schools project, covering 73 schools, which installs solar panels, donates playground equipment, and is preparing to provide libraries to promote out-of-classroom learning for young people; and the Lottery Creativity for Communities project, now in its eighth year, which has enhanced value and pride in local wisdom and culture, promoting economic and social sustainability for 77 communities.

On environmental efforts, GLO implements concrete actions under the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standard. These include strict waste separation, installing solar panels, setting up food waste composting facilities, and upgrading the GLO printing plant to a Level 4 Green Industry status, known as Green Culture. The office is preparing to advance to Level 5 certification, the Green Network.

Lieutenant Colonel Noon Sansanakhom, Director of the Government Lottery Office. He stated that in 2026, GLO aims to advance the organization by seeking certification for consumer and social responsibility in gambling services—Responsible Gaming (RG)—at Level 3 according to the World Lottery Association (WLA) standards. Under the concept “GLO Play Responsibly: Mindful Lottery Buying,” the office strictly prohibits selling government lottery tickets to anyone under 20 years old, bans sales near educational institutions, and does not support youth involvement in any lottery activities. Measures are in place to prevent and reduce lottery addiction risks from both paper and digital products. GLO supports informed decision-making by the public, encouraging responsible purchasing for themselves and their families, ensuring that gaming brings happiness without negative social impact. It also provides counseling services for those concerned about gambling problems via the GLO Call Center at 0-2528-9999, press 9.

Additionally, GLO prioritizes human resource development to enhance expertise in various processes, emphasizing innovation to drive positive change. This supports sustainable organizational transformation along with building an ethical corporate culture committed to honesty and transparency under good governance policies.

In 2025, GLO contributed 54.21 billion baht in revenue to the country, showing continuous growth from previous years. The office extends its gratitude to the public, lottery distributors, and all stakeholders for playing a vital role in driving the Government Lottery Office to fulfill its mission of creating happiness through hope while sharing value for sustainable growth alongside Thai society.
