
The new Minister of Tourism and Sports chose an auspicious time to pay respects to sacred symbols at the Government Complex Chaeng Watthana, Building C, the Ministry’s new office, seeking good fortune. He is preparing to convene ministry executives to discuss and present policies to drive Thailand’s tourism industry on 9 April, immediately after completing his parliamentary policy address.
7 April 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Surasak Phanjaroenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, traveled to the Government Complex Chaeng Watthana, Building C, to pay respects to the sacred figures of the area, including Phra Phrom (the Great Brahma), Ganesha, and the Earth Goddess.
He then paid homage to the Buddha statue in his office on the 11th floor of Building C for good fortune as he begins duties at the new office. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports relocated from its previous office on Ratchadamnoen Road to the Government Complex Chaeng Watthana about one month ago.
After the religious ceremony, Mr. Surasak met with the ministry’s executives to exchange views and revealed plans to officially present the Ministry’s policies and operational guidelines on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at 14:00 in the 7th floor conference room of Building C at the Government Complex.
This event is scheduled immediately after the Prime Minister’s policy address to parliament in the morning of the same day. It is expected to lay an important foundation for attracting tourists and stimulating the economy in the second quarter of the year.
