The Transport Company reports a bustling atmosphere during the 2026 Songkran Festival travel period, expecting 10 April to be the busiest day with over 180,000 passengers returning to their hometowns. More than 8,000 bus trips are arranged to meet demand. The company assures that management is sufficient to prevent any passenger backlog and warns the public to beware of scammers, advising ticket purchases only through official channels.

Mr. Attawit Rakjamroon, President of The Transport Company Limited (BorKorSor). He described the overall travel situation during the 2026 Songkran Festival, noting that on 10 April 2026, people continue to use services at Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), also known as Mo Chit 2 station.

Expectation: 10 April peak with 180,000 travelers.

Since 10 April is the last working day before the long Songkran holiday, the company anticipates the highest passenger volume, estimating around 160,000 to 180,000 travelers for round trips. The company has prepared by scheduling over 7,000 to 8,000 bus trips (company and partner buses), plus approximately 1,200 additional non-scheduled buses (30 extra buses) to fully facilitate travel during the festival.

On 9 April 2026, there were 58,431 passengers departing Bangkok and 45,461 returning, totaling 103,892 passengers. A total of 6,096 bus trips operated both ways, with the company managing transport efficiently to meet demand and no reports of stranded passengers.

Mr. Attawit emphasized safety, urging the public not to trust unscrupulous individuals who may try to befriend or deceive travelers by selling fake tickets. He advises purchasing tickets only from official ticket counters to prevent financial loss and ensure safety during travel.
