Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor, announced that the Ministry of Labor has tasked the Social Security Office to enhance dental benefits for insured individuals under Sections 33 and 39. This aims to improve quality of life, reduce health expenses, and expand access to effective medical services starting 1 May 2026 as follows:

For insured persons receiving services at contracted state medical facilities:

- Coverage includes fillings, scaling, tooth extractions, and all wisdom tooth surgeries. Additional benefits include root planing and bone contouring to prepare the mouth before denture fitting, with no limit on the number of treatments as medically necessary. Insured persons pay no fees except when attending special clinics, in which case they are responsible for doctor fees based on the 2025 Ministry of Public Health rates for Thais.

- The budget for dentures has been increased to a range of 1,500 to 6,000 baht, and denture repair fees set at 900 baht per occurrence.

- Added rights for dental implants to support full-mouth dentures for those who have lost all teeth and cannot wear removable dentures, including surgery fees of 17,500 baht, implant kit costs of 3,300 baht, and ongoing follow-up care after treatment.

For insured persons receiving services at contracted private medical facilities:

- Coverage includes fillings, scaling, and tooth extractions with an annual limit of 900 baht. If costs exceed 900 baht, insured persons must pay the difference.

- Added coverage for wisdom tooth surgery fees ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 baht per tooth, with no additional cost to insured persons.

- The budget for dentures has been increased to 1,500 to 6,000 baht, with denture repair fees at 900 baht per occasion.

- Added rights for dental implants supporting full-mouth dentures for those who have lost all teeth and cannot wear removable dentures, including surgery fees of 17,500 baht, implant kit costs of 3,300 baht, and ongoing follow-up care after treatment.

Ms. Kanjana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, added that dental benefits apply when insured persons have contributed for at least 3 months within 15 months before the date of service, and up to 6 months after coverage ends. For services at non-contracted state or private facilities, insured persons must pay upfront and can request reimbursement through the e-Self Service system or at Social Security offices nationwide. More information is available at Social Security offices across Bangkok, provinces, or via the 24-hour Social Security hotline at 1506.

Currently, the Social Security Office is negotiating agreements with hospitals and clinics willing to provide dental services to insured persons. Lists of contracted hospitals and clinics will be announced to insured persons via the Social Security Office website.www.sso.go.th. Next,
