
The Ministry of Commerce is preparing to kick off “Thai Help Thai” Phase 2, focusing on lowering living costs and distributing affordable goods nationwide through district offices and 3,800 mobile vendor vehicles starting 1 May.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthammanoon said today's situation is complex on many levels. While China has begun planning its five-year national development, Thailand will adapt to maintain trade balance with both China and the United States simultaneously.CrisisEnergy pressures are pushing up commodity prices, affecting other consumer goods as well as transportation and exports.
Regarding efforts to manage citizens' living costs, the Ministry of Commerce will prioritize this issue. They acknowledge that if the situation does not improve, some product prices may need to be adjusted following changes in cost structures.
Looking ahead, the Ministry confirmed it will fully implement the “Thai Help Thai” project by upgrading the previous Blue Flag project, HOUSE BRAND products, and agricultural goods, integrating efforts with the Ministry of Interior and the Village Fund. They will open points to sell "Thai Help Thai" products through 800 district offices nationwide, offering discounted goods to ease living costs every Friday. Currently, about 660 district offices are ready to participate, with the program starting on 1 May.
In the long term, Phase 1 of upgrading SME products has placed goods on six online platforms.Applicationsinclude Thailand Postmart, Nexgen, Shopee, TikTok, LINE, and Lazada. Participating entrepreneurs will be exempt from commission fees (free GP) for one month, with 250 discount coupons worth 100 baht each distributed to 2,000 people, totaling 500,000 coupons.
Phase 2 will bring "Thai Help Thai" products online at the same prices as in stores, offering free delivery within 5 kilometers, collaborating with Top, Lotus, and Big C.
Additionally, applications will open for 3,800 mobile vendor vehicles nationwide to bring products to remote areas where residents have difficulty accessing goods. The application process is expected to open next week..
The government will assist with fuel cards, categorizing vehicles such as motorcycles.Motorcycleswith sidecars will receive 1,500 baht per month for fuel, while cars will receive 3,000 baht per month. This program is expected to begin in the third week of May 2026.
