The Chao Phraya Express Boat has announced good news for passengers: a 1 baht fare reduction on all boat types effective from 1 May 2026. This follows the diesel price drop to 40.25 baht per liter. The company confirmed that if diesel prices decline further, they are ready to adjust fares downward to help ease the public's burden.
On 28 April 2026, Captain Charoenporn Charoentham, managing director of Chao Phraya Express Boat Company Limited, which operates passenger boats along the Chao Phraya River route from Pak Kret Pier to Wat Ratchasingkhon Pier, revealed that due to a 4 baht decrease in diesel prices to 40.25 baht per liter on 24 April 2026, the company resolved to reduce all boat fares by 1 baht from the previous rates.
This fare reduction will take effect on Friday, 1 May 2026, with the following new fare details for each route:
- Pak Kret – Nonthaburi route reduced to 16 baht (down from 17 baht).
- Nonthaburi – Sathorn route reduced to 23 baht (down from 24 baht).
- Pak Kret – Sathorn route reduced to 35 baht (down from 36 baht).
Red-flag boat (air-conditioned) (Nonthaburi – Sathorn route) reduced to 32 baht (down from 33 baht).
Captain Charoenporn added that if diesel prices drop again in the future, the company is ready to consider further fare reductions accordingly.
