Check the conditions for bringing wine into Thailand and when tax applies.

According to laws on liquor importation and passengers’ personal effects, the tax exemption quantities are as follows:

  • Quantity not exceeding 1 liter is exempt from tax; passengers can pass through the Nothing to Declare (green) channel immediately.

  • Quantity exceeding 1 liter but not more than 10 liters passengers must contact officials at the Goods to Declare (red) channel to pay the applicable taxes and receive an excise stamp to affix on the liquor bottle.

Passengers importing can check product value information, excise tax, customs duties, value-added tax, local taxes, and contributions to related funds, as well as confirm the product list and payable taxes directly through the system during use. The Wine Fast Track system is accessible through the websitewww.excise.go.thorhttps://winefasttrack.excise.go.thand also via a Mobile Application on the Android platform; the iOS version will be launched soon.

Passengers can fill in relevant information, confirm product listings and tax amounts in advance through the system before customs procedures. Then they proceed to verification and tax payment with officials at the Goods to Declare (red) channel. Once officials verify the information and complete tax collection, they will issue an excise stamp to affix on the wine bottle as proof of lawful tax payment.

“The Excise Department will continue developing digital services to enhance government service convenience, speed, transparency, and effectively meet the needs of citizens and businesses, while ensuring fair, accurate tax collection aligned with international standards.”
