Phattharaphong Unveils 5 Policies to Elevate Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel to a World-class Aviation Hub

"Phattharaphong"Unveils 5 policies to upgrade service quality at Suvarnabhumi Airport hotel - Hyatt Regency Bangkok-Towards a World-class Aviation Hub focusing on strong and sustainable revenue growth

Today (12 May 2026), Mr. Phattharaphong Phatraprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed after inspecting and issuing operational policies for the Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel Company Limited (SAHC), the supervisory body,(SAHC),that he has issued five key operational policies to SAHC aimed at "enhancing service quality to support the drive toward a World-class Aviation Hub," as follows.

1. SAHC is to expedite the renovation project of the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, including project management consultancy, project supervision, construction, and other ongoing projects, ensuring completion within the specified timeframe under principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability. The goal is to elevate building standards and service quality to align with international five-star hotel standards, and to improve critical infrastructure that promotes the image and readiness of Suvarnabhumi Airport to become a global aviation hub.

2. SAHC must upgrade service quality to a 5-star international standard Smart Hotel thatincorporates “Thai identity”as the country's gateway, by analyzing customer satisfaction data to create superior experiences, emphasizing seamless passenger terminal connectivity and enhancing capacity to serve transit and transfer passengers,(Transit & Transfer)to sustainably boost global competitiveness.

3. SAHC should expand strategic partnerships with airlines and global aviation service providers to position SAHC as the preferred accommodation for discerning travelers, while aggressively managing revenue, focusing on increasing the share ofNon-RoomRevenue Optimization, such as hosting meetings,conferences and exhibitions(MICE) for private and public sectors,and upgrading the international health and wellness center (Medical & Wellness Hub) to meet global service demands..

4. SAHC is to focus on enhancing staff quality of life through appropriate and fair management ofbenefits and compensation,referencing standards of leading state enterprises and aligning with international hotel benefits to build morale,security and motivationfor optimal performance, aiming to transform the organization into a high-performance entity with expert and highly efficient personnel, such as developing AI skills or data analytics capabilities to anticipate personalized guest needs (Personalized Service) in support of becoming a global aviation hub. 5. SAHC should lead sustainability in the airport hotel industry (Green & Smart Airport Hotel) by driving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies through promoting efficient resource use, reducing environmental impact, conserving energy, and increasing stakeholder engagement, alongside principles of transparency, accountability, and good corporate governance. This includes implementing clean energy projects to support the “Green Airport Clean Energy” policy and developing a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to address emerging crises such as pandemics, climate change impacts,Middle East crises and others.Mr. Phattharaphong also emphasized the crucial goal of "enhancing service quality to support Thailand's drive toward a World-class Aviation Hub," which requires strategic partnerships that cannot be achieved by any single agency alone but demand close integration of four key agencies: the Department of Airports developing infrastructure, Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited managing air traffic efficiently, the Civil Aviation Training Center producing quality personnel, and Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel enhancing hospitality services. All parts must act as

essentialgears moving in unison.The Ministry of Transport stands ready to support policy levels to advance key agendas, including revisingregulations and procedural hurdles, and providing necessary resources such as budget and technology, with the ultimate goal being the public interest,convenience and highest safety for the people.Ms. Traithip Sivakritkul, Chairperson of SAHC, stated that SAHC is ready to respond to government and Ministry of Transport policies "to elevate service quality to support Thailand's drive to a World-class Aviation Hub" and the five key policies assigned by the Deputy Minister of Transport. Regarding sustainability leadership in the airport hotel industry, SAHC has a Phase 2 solar power system installation project on the hotel roof to reduce fossil fuel energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, increase renewable energy usage, and lower long-term energy costs. The project is expected to complete by May 2026.

Additionally, there is a plan to convert customer service vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs). SAHC will integrate collaboration with affiliated agencies to advance Thailand's aviation network growth and elevate service quality to internationally recognized standards.Read more "Government Policies"
