Department of Highways Restores Rama 2 Road Surface at Km.26, Ends Traffic Diversion, Plans to Open M82 Motorway in August

The Department of Highways updated progress on the M82 Bang Khun Thian–Ban Phaeo Motorway, fully restoring the road surface on Rama 2 Road at Km.26, ending traffic diversion, and expecting to open a trial run in August 2026.

Full restoration of the road surface on Rama 2 Road at Km.26.

On 13 May 2026, starting at 05:00, the project completed lifting and installing the elevated main structure segments at Km.26 on Rama 2 Road (in front of Porto Chino) and immediately ended the reversible lane traffic diversion during daytime to fully restore all three main traffic lanes in both directions, facilitating smooth traffic flow for Rama 2 Road users.

Going forward, the project will accelerate remaining work on the elevated structure, such as installing bridge railings, laying asphalt road surfaces, sealing bridge joints, and installing safety devices to prepare for a trial opening in August 2026.

Additionally, construction remains on the bridge structures at the entry and exit ramps of Samut Sakhon Toll Gates 1 and 2, with efforts underway to expedite work according to schedule, aiming for completion within 2026.
